Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in communications, public relations, marketing, English, or journalism/media field.
2.
Working knowledge of PC's, Macs, and iPads.
3.
Ability to grasp new concepts.
4.
Effective communication skills with various school system stakeholders and news media 5.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
6.
Strong management and organizational skills.
7.
Strong ability to multi-task with exceptional attention to detail.
8.
Hold a valid driver's license that allows the applicant/employee to legally operate a motor vehicle in Georgia.
The license as well as a good driving record must be maintained for the duration of the job.
Preferred
Qualifications:
1.
Experience or training in the coordination of public information programs, writing, researching, and the production of social media posts, news releases and publications.
2.
Experience or training in desktop publishing, layout, and design concepts.
3.
Experience or training in advanced design and audio/video production software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and After Effects.
4.
Experience working in K-12 environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Maintain, monitor and publish content for all district social media accounts.
2.
Regularly assess school webpages for current content.
3.
Gather information to assist the Communications Office administration with the preparation of press releases.
4.
Assist with the communication needs of district employees, media, agencies, community, and the public.
5.
Assist the Communications Office administration in the preparation of materials and documents for public relations, branding, and marketing projects.
6.
Assist Communications Office administration in the planning and implementation of special event projects.
7.
Assist the Communications Office administration in the planning and execution of news conferences and other media events.
8.
Maintain and update district fact sheets and other information about district departments, divisions, and programs.
9.
Attend district, school, and community events to take photos and assist with video and streaming needs to include after-hours events when necessary.
10.
Assist the Communications Office administration in the regular collection and assessment of data and analytics across a variety of digital platforms in an effort to assess the status of the district's public image.
11.
Assist with general administration in the Communications Department.
This can involve telephone calls, scheduling meetings, preparing presentations and gathering of materials for meetings/forums.
12.
Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.
13.
Prompt and regular attendance.
14.
Participates in professional learning to keep abreast of current and emerging technologies.
15.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
Physical Requirements:
Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:
Medium Work:
Exerting 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment:
Salary shall be paid consistent on the System's approved salary schedule.
Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Public Relations in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on classified evaluation.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
