The Medical Office Assistant can be responsible for an array of different task but not limited to greeting patients and obtaining their personal information such as address and insurance information.
This person is expected to manage communications with patients, insurers and other staff.
Their role is to keep track of patient information and organize office records to ensure that all patients get prompt care and provide the correct payment information for their accounts.
The Front Office Assistant interacts with patients by helping them fill out intake forms, calling to remind them about appointment times, working out payment schedules and explaining next steps to process a referral or fill a prescription.
They file medical paperwork and record interactions related to each file.
As well as be responsible for conducting basic clinical duties for providers to include Certified Pedorthist (CPeds).
In this role, you bring patients back to the exam rooms, prepare the patient in the exam chair (socks and shoes removed), record vital signs, ask patients questions about their symptoms, concerns, medical history, and required MIPs history.
Back office medical assistant ensure patient records are completed, maintained and organized.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to the following):
Greet and check-in patients.
Perform office clerical support including but not limited to registering patients, entering patient information required for insurance and billing purposes into the computer, answering telephone, pulling medical records, scheduling appointments, and prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently.
Collect co-payments and understand CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Post charges and payments into practice management system as needed.
Verify patient insurance.
Assist with efficient patient flow by keeping exam rooms full and assisting physicians as need in order to expedite patient care.
Assure examination rooms are clean and adequately stocked with appropriate supplies.
Prepare patient for exam.
Dispense DME (Durable Medical Equipment) to patients when applicable Update EMR system Maintain inventory and order medical supplies.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
